Lighting for ships, focused on people

Set new standards with lighting solutions that improve life at sea

There is no regular daily routine in the maritime working environment. Due to shift work and long journeys, crew members are often exposed to artificial light for weeks on end. This disrupts the natural day-night cycle and places high physical and mental strain on them. This is exactly where Human Centric Lighting comes in: lighting that is based on the natural biorhythm of humans and supports sleep quality, concentration and well-being.

How Human Centric Lighting works

Human Centric Lighting (HCL) aims to bring the benefits of natural lighting indoors. Through targeted control of light colour and intensity, it simulates the natural course of the day: activating, cool light in the morning and calming, warm light in the evening. This helps to stabilise the circadian rhythm and create an energising lighting atmosphere for the people on board. In effect, HCL can reduce fatigue and increase safety and performance – particularly important on long missions and in windowless areas.

Where our technology meets your well-being

We develop customised HCL solutions for ships, offshore platforms and other maritime facilities. Our portfolio includes a wide range of luminaires with high colour rendering index (CRI), numerous dimmable products with colour temperature controls such as Tunable White and Dim-to-Warm as well as colour control such as RGBW. With modern lighting technology and intelligent control systems, we create an environment that supports humans – day after day, shift after shift.
