Quality & Testing at LightPartner

Reliable lighting, tested the right way

Luminaires are subject to a number of environmental influences throughout their service life. These affect their performance and durability, and therefore the product’s impact on the environment. At LightPartner, we subject our luminaires to rigorous testing in extreme environmental conditions, including vibration, shock, climate and temperature. Our in-house lab meets the high standards of leading classification societies as well as international IMO and military requirements.

The environmental simulation is designed to evaluate the quality of technical products and identify potential vulnerabilities. This testing process guarantees the reliability of our luminaires, ensuring we deliver the highest quality products.

Our testing methods

Vibration

Luminaires undergo controlled vibration simulations to evaluate their structural integrity and reliability under real-life conditions. This testing ensures compliance with durability standards for transport, installation, and operational environments.

Climatic Test

In our climatic chamber, luminaires are exposed to extreme temperatures, rapid temperature changes, and varying humidity levels to simulate real-life environmental conditions. These tests evaluate their thermal stability, moisture resistance, and overall performance under challenging climates.

Light Measurements

We evaluate luminaires for their photometric performance, including brightness, colour accuracy, beam distribution and efficiency. Using specialized equipment, we measure critical parameters such as luminous flux, intensity, and colour temperature.

IP Protection Classes

An important part of our laboratory is the immersion tank. Here, we test the water ingress protection of our luminaires. We test for IPX7, which means the luminaire must withstand submersion in 1 meter of freshwater for up to 30 minutes.

Endurance Test

To evaluate the reliability and longevity of our products, we conduct endurance tests that simulate real-life conditions, including exposure to an ambient temperature of up to +45°C. Samples are inspected and undergo light measurement at defined time intervals.

Our Certificates

We work with some of the most influential classification societies, including DNV, BV, LR and ABS. Our tests are performed in accordance with their standards to ensure maximum quality.
